Development plan: Flop show leaves officials annoyed
FEEDBACK VENTURES, the agency hired by the Centre to prepare the city development plan faced a lot of criticism during its presentation of the CDP in front of higher officials of the Urban Development Department on Tuesday.
Feedback Ventures’ chief consultant Vinod Tewari was taken to task by the principal secretary Urban Development A K Verma and special secretary Urban Development SP Singh for his poor presentation of city development plan.
The officials were not satisfied with the presentation as it was all over within 10 minutes. The agency was asked to review the plan and present it again on July 31.
“The plan lacked the basic requirements of residents. I think the agency preparing the plan doesn’t understand the city at all. Tewari is preparing the CDP in an AC Chamber in Delhi, and doesn’t know what Lucknow is all about,” said special secretary SP Singh. And added, “We have given them a week to prepare the CDP again or we will prepare the same.”
According to Additional Municipal Chief Santosh Rai, “ The agency has failed to deliver for which it was appointed, the CDP has no direction, no planning for future.”
Meanwhile, the CDP of Kanpur was also presented by the agency on the occasion. According to Feedback Ventures’ officials, various departments did not support them when approached for data.
