Devotees throng Shringar Gauri

A LARGE number of devotees, including Shiv Sainiks, visited the Shringar Gauri temple situated in the sensitive Gyanwapi complex and paid their obeisance on Sunday on the fourth day of Chaitra Navratri festival. Since the fourth day of the Navarti festival is the day of Goddess Shringar Gauri, the activists of Shiv Sena, including women, assembled in Chauk area and marched toward Gyanwapi complex to offer prayers and perform worship.Prominent Shiv Saniks who offered prayers at Shringar Gauri included Gulshan Kapoor, Shiv Seth, Varun Singh, Omprakash Verma, Ajay Singh, Kala Devi, Anuradha Devi, Motiraj Devi and Ramrati Devi .

Since the fourth day of the Navarti festival is the day of Goddess Shringar Gauri, the activists of Shiv Sena, including women, assembled in Chauk area and marched toward Gyanwapi complex to offer prayers and perform worship.
Prominent Shiv Saniks who offered prayers at Shringar Gauri included Gulshan Kapoor, Shiv Seth, Varun Singh, Omprakash Verma, Ajay Singh, Kala Devi, Anuradha Devi, Motiraj Devi and Ramrati Devi .

Besides, a large number of devotees queued up since the wee hours on Sunday to worship the Goddess. Other temples of Goddess Durga were also seen overcrowded with devotees coming from different corners of the city to pay their obeisance.

The district administration had made elaborate security arrangements at the sensitive Gyanwapi complex.It may be mentioned that the nine days of Navrati festival are portray nine different forms of Goddess Durga. As per tradition, there is significance of worship of Goddess Vishalakshi Gauri on the fifth day of Navratri festival on Monday.

The temple of Goddess Vishalakshi Gauri is situated at Meer Ghat.The managment committee of Nav Durga Manokamna Sidha Mandir organised religious functions to mark the fourth day’s celebration of Navratri festival. Kunwari Kanya Pujan was organised here in which nine girls were worshipped.
