According to the Government Order number 2310/15-1-2006 -33(92) 2001 dated August 25, 2006 the DIET teachers have been separated from the seniority list of teachers of 13 departments selected by Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission under UP Education General Cadre Service.
Earlier, these teachers originally appointed as DIET lecturers were being appointed on the posts of their choice in any of 13 departments. However, the Government in its recent order of seniority list of 13 departments' teachers, excluded the DIET lecturers from the list saying these posts were not included in UP Education General Cadre Service Rule 1992.
Therefore, a separate seniority list for DIET will be released later by the Government. Sources said that the Government has taken this decision because the teachers selected for DIETs through the UPPSC did not work there but were posted as Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Deputy Secretary, Assistant District Inspector of Schools and such other posts.
As a result the main objective of the DIET has been defeated in view of lecturers not working with the institutes but on some other beneficial posts. Obviously, the order has come as a big shock to them. These lecturers have resolved to take the issue to the higher level officials. They will be meeting here on Thursday to discuss the matter and later hand over a memorandum to the Secretary, Madhymik Shiksha Parishad in this regard.
