Senior police officers are worried over the role of the management of Triveni Sheet Glass Factory in the murder of several union leaders and workers associated with trade union activities in the past.

If curbs are not put immediately the management of this factory appears to be heading towards assuming the mantle of mafia, feels the DIG range Akhilesh Mehrotra.
The senior cop's above observations in a letter to the Inspector Daraganj has made the arrest of Triveni Sheet Glass Factory owner JK Agarwala and some others imminent, feel insiders.
These persons are wanted in the murder of trade union leader Amrendra Pandey and are evading arrest. After the transfer of the investigation in this case to the Daraganj police following widespread agitation and protests by employees and their associations, the DIG has directed Inspector Daraganj to ensure immediate arrest of all the accused including the owner who has been charged under sections 302 and 120 B of the IPC.
To recall four persons including the GM, CP Yadav and administrative officer KK Gupta had been arrested a few hours after the murder following a named FIR against them by a relative of the slain leader. Two accused Bhaskar and Arvind who had allegedly shot the leader along with another associate were arrested two days ago following great pressure of employees and various associations including political parties. The third accused including the factory owner and some others are still at large.
Cops, it may be mentioned, are also preparing to initiate proceedings under NSA against the arrested persons.
What is important here is the fact that the DIG has directed Inspector Daraganj, Amar Singh, to see that all those connected with the management of the factory were properly interrogated as information received by him (DIG) point towards the role of the management in this murder which triggered widespread protests and demonstration.
Also, statement given by two of the accused, Bhaskar and Arvind, appears to be tutored and as such it was necessary that they be taken on remand for another round of proper quizzing, said the DIG in a missive to the Inspector. In view of several murders of employee leaders of this factory in the past it was imperative that pre-emptive steps are taken to prevent any other happening of similar nature.
The DIG has also directed the Inspector to ensure that the investigations were carried out impartially without any delay with all the fairness of purpose and he be apprised of all the developments.
Meanwhile, factory workers are gunning for the replacement of the MD JK Agarwala.
