Suspected Adivasi National Liberation Army (ANLA) militants had planted the bomb on the metre gauge tracks of the Northeast Frontier (NF) railway between Harisinga and Rangapara last night targeting the 13 UP Arunachal Express, sources said.

The bomb exploded around 8.15 pm just after the train passed the area damaging the railway tracks and disrupting train services, they said.

Some wire and batteries were recovered from the spot, sources said, adding senior railway and police officers had rushed to the spot.
