DISTRICT MAGISTRATE Amrit Abhijat said that action would be taken against those who would use of hooters and beacon lights illegally.
The DM issued directives to the officials at a meeting of transport magistrate and police officials following the directives of the state government as part of the campaign against the unauthorised use of hooters and beacon lights across the State.
The DM expressed resentment at the flaunting of hooters and beacon lights in the city and asked the transport department to take action against such vehicles.
According to the plan, three teams have been formed for Trans-Yamuna and Trans-Ganga areas comprising officials of both transport and police departments.
All the ACMs, ADM (city) and SP (city) have been directed to keep an eye on the valuation of campaign being carried out in their respective areas. The DM said that the SDM, the circle officer (CO) and the station officer (SO) would carry out a joint campaign in their areas.
The DM said that the unauthorised use of hooters and beacon lights led to rise incidents of crime.
He asked people dealing in beacon lights and hooters to record their sale.
SP (city) RPS Yadav, who also addressed the meeting, said that action was taken against 67 vehicles. ADM City RP Singh, RTO, SP City ACMs, COs and Assistant Director information RP Dwivedi were also present in the meeting.
