Doctor feared kidnapped

DR NARAYAN Hari Sharma, a well-known physician of Ambah town in Morena district, disappeared while on his way to Ambah from Gwalior in his car late last night. It was suspected that he was kidnapped by dacoits but there was no official confirmation. Dr Sharma last contacted his family at 11.45 pm.

According to information Dr Sharma was returning from Gwalior after attending a marriage ceremony in his Maruti Zen MP06 D 1447 to Ambah. He told his family on phone between Asan and Sank rivers that he would be reaching Ambah by 1 am.

But when he did not reach Ambah by 1.30 am, his son Anurag tried to contact him on his mobile which was found switched off. At 2 am, Anurag and other family members came on Morena-Ambah road in search of Dr Sharma. At 3 am they informed the police control room. The police registered the case of disappearance.

It was suspected that Dr Sharma might have been kidnapped from the heart of the city. On receipt of information, about the disappearance of Dr Sharma, who runs his private clinic, politicians, traders and other citizens of Ambah gathered in large numbers at his residence and gave a call for bandh in Ambah Tehsil.

On the other hand all the Government doctors and private practitioners of district Morena have called a meeting in the CMO office, Morena, to deliberate on launching an agitation. It is learnt that the irate doctors and other health workers might go on strike against the suspected abduction of Dr Sharma.
