Doda: Deputy commissioner Bhupinder Kumar issues avalanche warning

In the wake of expected snowfall in the upper reaches of state, Doda deputy commissioner Bhupinder Kumar has issued warning as the weather is likely to deteriorate from February 1 to 3 in the avalanche prone areas of the district, which are above the altitude of 2,500 metres.

In the wake of expected snowfall in the upper reaches of state, Doda deputy commissioner Bhupinder Kumar has issued warning as the weather is likely to deteriorate from February 1 to 3 in the avalanche prone areas of the district, which are above the altitude of 2,500 metres.

The DC advised the people not to venture out in the avalanche-prone areas during the period. He has advised people to clear snow from rooftops of the house and bunker to avoid any untoward incident during the snowfall.

Kumar issued directions to all the officers to ensure that there is no disruption of essential services, including power supply, water supply, healthcare services. He especially asked to ensure that there is no shortage of foodgrains and kerosene in the district.

Assistant director consumer affairs and public distribution was directed to ensure the sufficient stock of essential commodities distributed under the public distribution system (PDS) in the district, especially in snow-prone areas of Bhallesa, Dessa, Bhaderwah and Marmat.

The concerned officers have been impressed upon to establish control rooms and the phone numbers be notified for the general public.
