A protest rally started from the boys higher secondary school to the deputy commissioner' office. The protesters were shouting slogans in favour of their demands, including release of salaries for the past eight months, regularisation of ReTs, who have completed seven years of services, and regularisation of EVs, who have been working for the past 10 years.

The protesters also staged a sit in on the premises of the DC's office and alleged that teachers and ReTs are without salaries for the past eight months and administration is not taking steps for redressal of their grievances. They added that the last time the officers of the district administration have promised to bring these genuine demands to the notice of higher authorities but nothing has been done so far.

They threatened that if the administration fails to take this issue seriously, they will have no option but to launch a large-scale protest against the administration as well as education department.
