Terrance Marbeck, father of 29-year-old model Sarah, said he didn't "give a tuppence about David Beckham" and that his wife was not consulted before a statement quoting her was released Tuesday.
Lawyer Michael Brereton quoted Marbeck's mother Elizabeth in a statement as saying: "I was aware of Sarah's relationship with David Beckham and supported her decision to tell the public about it."
Terrance Marbeck told the Australian newspaper he had never met or spoken to Brereton and that his wife would not comment because she had a "heavy heart".
Their denial follows doubts expressed by Marbeck's "pals" in Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper about the model's sensational claim she had slept with the England captain and Real Madrid midfielder and that he had told her he loved her.
One "friend" told the paper the model had a snapshot taken with Beckham during a chance encounter with him at Singapore airport three years ago.
"She is doing it for the money," the paper quoted another "pal" as saying. "She must be desperate for the attention."
But Marbeck's lawyer rejected the idea his client had told London's News of the World for the money and denied she wanted to break up Beckham's marriage.
"I haven't seen that in Sarah at all, not at all," Brereton told public radio.
"She's obviously emotional and I think that her emotions are clear when you read the story ... it's quite clear it wasn't a maliceful or angry reaction."
Marbeck is the second woman to go public with claims of an affair with the former Manchester United captain.
Beckham, 28, has fiercely denied both women's claims and has referred the matters to his lawyers.
The footballer and his pop-star wife Victoria, 30, have made public display of their affection in recent days, posing for cameras at their Hertfordshire mansion and a stylish London restaurant.
Meanwhile Marbeck is avoiding the media, except the News of the World, which is minding her at an exclusive hotel in the Queensland resort town of Port Douglas.
