ABOUT ONE dozen people were injured in a clash between members of a marriage party and that from the bride’s side in Amapur Berra village under Raniganj police station in the district on Saturday.

According to reports, at the time of ‘khichari ceremony’ the groom’s family demanded a Hero Honda motorcycle. This resulted in heated arguments with the bride’s family and soon people of both sides clashed with lathis and dandas and started beating each other. In the clash Ram Nirakh, Dayawati, Vipin Kumar, Ramesh, Suresh, Manoj, Sanjai and others were injured.
Official’s visit: Member, Board of Revenue, Mohammad Iftkharuddin, inspected Kunda tehsil and inquired about works related with consolidation, irrigation, pending cases and recovery of revenue. In the meeting deputy director, Consolidation GD Arya, told him that the proposal of 187 villages was sent for consolidation.
Meanwhile, a Janta Darshan programme organised in Shekhpur village was cancelled because two groups of the village fought over the issue of a government shop before the arrival of Mohd Iftakharuddin.
Murder threat: Kotwali Patti police registered a case of murder threat and misbehaviour against seven supporters of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Rajendra Pratap Singh alias Moti Singh on Saturday.
According to police, the case was registered at the complaint of Indrajeet Yadav, husband of Rekha Yadav, a block pramukh candidate.
In the complaint submitted to superintendent of police Prem Prakash, Indrajeet Yadav said Moti Singh was against his wife contesting the election from Patti block. Yadav claimed the MLA’s supporters Anil Singh, Santosh Singh residents Bibipur village and five others threatened his uncle Mahadeo at his petrol pump.
Police have registered a case under section 147,148,504,506 of IPC.
