A raucous post-Holi celebration at an Agra school ended with the suspension of two policemen and the arrests of a milkman and the school’s manager – all allegedly found drunk –on Saturday.

The policemen have since been suspended as the issue drew protests from locals.

Witnesses said a party inside the school premises Saturday had inebriated men dancing in their lungis – a traditional garment worn around the waist by men.

One of them – the milkman – at one time went out to a shop where he allegedly misbehaved with a woman. The victim raised an alarm after which locals barged in to the school, identified as Awas Vikas Colony’s Laxmi Memorial School.

“Two of the accused including the school manager and milkman have been arrested after case registered against them. The policemen have been suspended and an inquiry would be undertaken about their involvement”, SP City Sameer Saurabh said. ?

The school manager, DK Gautam, apparently was close to the two policemen who were posted at the Jagdishpura police station. He used his links to subdue locals who had been complaining against school for some time now.

Gautam and the milkman have been booked for ‘obscene dancing’ and eve-teasing.
