The three-member cyber crime cell team from Bangalore came after it traced a "suspected" e-mail to a cyber cafe near a bus stand in the district, Chittoor SP PVS Ram Krishna said.

He however denied media reports that the team had come following inputs that a suspected terrorist, who used the browsing centre to send the e-mail on June 2, is hiding in the town.

The SP also rubbished reports that Karnataka Police had picked up some persons for sending the e-mail.

"The team came to Chittoor town, as part of a probe into a cyber-crime case and questioned a cafe owner," the SP said.
