Ed Rainsford saw his way into the Zimbabwe national squad against Sri Lanka in 2004 when the 'rebel' players issue rocked the country's cricket board.

He is among the very new of the ZXimbabwe team having played just one one day international. He is a left-arm seam bowler with a genuine desire to grow into a really quick bowler. His yorkers are particularly effective against left-hand batsmen.

As a student in Jameson High in Kadoma, he was so keen on cricket that he would catch a lift thrice a week to Kwekwe, 45 miles away, to practise with the National League club team.

This enthusiasm led to selection for the Midlands team participating in the Logan Cup, nation's the Under-19 World Cup team and the famed CFX Academy in 2004.
