Eid celebrated with religious fervour

EID WAS celebrated in Bhopal with religious fervour and gaiety today. Members of the Muslim community offered special namaz, praying for peace and brotherhood in the country and the world. Thousands of goats were sacrificed in the City to mark the festival.

EID WAS celebrated in Bhopal with religious fervour and gaiety today. Members of the Muslim community offered special namaz, praying for peace and brotherhood in the country and the world. Thousands of goats were sacrificed in the City to mark the festival.

Shahar Qazi Abdul Latif led the prayer at the main Idgah and urged all people to live together with a feeling of love and brotherhood towards others.

Special namaz was also offered at the Tajul Masajid and other mosques of the City. Thousands of Muslim devotees participated in the special prayers and remembered Prophet Mohammad and Ismail. Soon after the special prayers in the morning the sacrifice of sacred goats began at Muslim households and temporary slaughterhouses set up by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) at various places in the City.

The festival would continue for three days and sacrifices would be carried out on all days. Special arrangements were also made for the poor. They were offered portions of the sacrificed goats at mosques and other places.
A children’s fair was organised at the Budhwara area. Several kinds of swings were the main attraction for the kids. Food stalls were also set up on the occasion.

Mayor Sunil Sood, DCC president Zaheer Ahmad, Quomi Ekta cell president Mushtaq Malik, former MLA PC Sharma and several other local leaders and distinguished citizens were present at the main Idgah during the special namaz. Members of the Hindu community greeted their Muslim brethren all over the City.

CM visits Shahar Qazi
CHIEF MINISTER Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the residence of Shahar Qazi Abdul Latif and greeted him on Id-Uj-Zuha. Public Health Engineering Minister Ram Pal Singh, Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Commission for Minorities, Mohammad Anwar Khan and district BJP president Surendranath Singh were present on the occasion. Shivraj Singh also greeted Naib Shahar Qazi Amir Ullah on Eid.
