Elderly woman among three killed in J&K

The three persons killed include a 55-year-old woman, a government employee and a medical assistant.

Terrorists have killed three persons, including an elderly woman and a government employee, in separate incidents since Sunday night, officials said on Monday.

Terrorists barged into two houses in Sumbard village of of Udhampur late Sunday night and abducted two persons, including 55-year-old Jan Begum and Abdul Hamid and took them to nearby forest belt, they said.

They were tortured for several hours and later killed, they added.

In another incident, terrorists abducted one medical assistant of the state health department Mohd Rafeeq from Gundana of Doda district on Sunday night and later shot dead, they said.

His body was recovered by the police and handed over to his family, they said.
