Electronic shop looted

Some thieves broke into an electronic goods shop on Sunday night on Ghokale Road, Thane (West) and stole mobiles, cameras worth lakhs from Mango. A case of house break-in has been registered at Naupada police station.

“Though we don’t know the exact amount of the stolen goods, so far it is valued at Rs 4 to 5 lakh,” said police inspector Hemant Sawant.

“The CCTV cameras in the shop were switched off while closing the shop for the night. That was a big mistake,” said Sawant. The two security guards couldn’t know about the incident. The police are investigating whether the robbery was executed by a gang.
