IN A bid to provide employment opportunities to youths, the Sports and Youth Welfare Department has decided to launch four courses from February 2007.
Talking to journalists here on Sunday, Sports Minister Yashodhararaje Scindia said the objective of these courses would be to provide cent per cent job placements to youths.
“These are employment-oriented courses that would help youths to chose careers,” she said. The sports department would introduce PG courses on tours & travel and animation.
The department has tied up with international firms to provide advance education to the participants. The tours & travel course is for one year and four months duration while the PG-level animation course is for a year and six months duration.
According to director (Sports) Sanjay Chaudhary, an aptitude test will be conducted in January.
“This test will be an important part before starting the course,” he said. Besides, the department has planned to offer 25 scholarships.
Principal secretary (Sports) Ranjana Chaudhary, managing director (MPSTDC) Ashwani Lohani and others were present at the press conference.
