Enough of Rahul Mahajan
Apropos of The future face of the BJP (June 5) Pankaj Vohra says that the episode of Rahul Mahajan has delivered a body blow to the BJP. The statement is ludicrous and is sensational.
Apropos of The future face of the BJP (June 5) Pankaj Vohra says that the episode of Rahul Mahajan has delivered a body blow to the BJP. The statement is ludicrous and is sensational. After all, who is Rahul Mahajan in the BJP?

Both the print and the electronic media gave undue coverage to the Rahul Mahajan scandal. Some readers may take pleasure in such cheap, scandalous and insignificant news, but for the majority, it is irritating.
Should our media not redefine their role and try to elevate the taste of their readers/viewers instead of catering to the cheap and vulgar taste of some?

Will someone please advise Vajpayee to keep himself away from the Rahul Mahajan mess? Drug use and abuse is an offence and should be treated as such. Vajpayee wants us to believe that Rahul Mahajan is an innocent child under pressure. However, servants at Mahajan’s house tell us that he is a habitual drug user.
Vajpayee should keep quiet till investigations are over. Apollo is already ‘paying’ for its premature and irresponsible talk.

Creating terrorists
I endorse the views expressed by Ramachandra Guha (People vs People, June 5). The method of retaliation adopted by the Chhattisgarh government amounts to giving constitutional sanction to potential terrorist organisations. Has our government lost confidence in its legally constituted force and in constitutional means?
Retaliation must be done by legal means. And with immediate effect, such self-claimed social activists should be banned to keep the people’s faith in the democracy alive.
