He issued the instructions during discussion on urea supply crisis and complaints from various parts of the State regarding poor supply of power. The discussion was held in an informal meeting of the State Cabinet immediately after the State Cabinet’s formal meet.

The CM informed about his meeting with the Union Chemical and Fertilisers Minister and correspondence with the Centre for supply of adequate quantity of urea to the State.

The CM asked the ministers to ensure regulated power supply in their respected districts and management in distribution of urea among the farmers. He also asked them to give him regular feedback about the same.

A minister told the Hindustan Times that the Centre was supposed to supply 2.5-lakh tonnes urea to the State but it supplied only a third of the demand, hence the crisis.
