Executive arrested for raping woman in Gurgaon

The Gurgaon police have booked an executive of a garments export house on charges of raping a tribal woman at his Greenwood City apartment, reports HT Correspondent.

The Gurgaon police have booked an executive of a garments export house on charges of raping a tribal woman at his Greenwood City apartment.

The 22-year old victim hails from Assam and was living in a rented accommodation in Sikanderpur village.

According to additional commissioner of police Kailash Chand, the woman alleged Manish Kumar who works with a garment export house in IMT Manesar, met her in Galleria Market area on Tuesday and offered to employ her for household work.

“The victim alleged the accused brought her to his apartment where he raped her on Tuesday late evening. She somehow managed to flee from the apartment on Wednesday morning and approached the Sector 40 police station and filed her complaint against Manish Kumar,” the ACP said.

The ACP said since the girl was a tribal from Assam, a case under the Prevention of SC/ST Atrocity Act 1995 was also filed against the executive. He was also booked under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (threaten to kill) of the IPC.

Kumar is orinigally from Ambala district.
