While the girl hostellers are being forced to vacate the hostel this summer vacation as their examinations have ended, the boys have been given the luxury of enjoying comfortable stay at the hostel itself.

In a bid to register their protest against this discrimination, inmates of Kailash Hostel ghearoed senior officials of the varsity. Their plea was that they should be allowed to stay in the hostel as they were preparing for the various competitive examinations. But LU officials are not ready to give their consent as they expect the girl hostellers to leave the hostels.
Incidentally, the number of male male student participating in the protest far outnumbered the girl hostellers. The LU is calling a meeting of provosts on May 29 to discuss the issue.
Pro V-C RS Yadav said: “The final decision would be taken at the hostel committee meeting. As per the rules hostellers are expected to leave their hostels within three days after the end of their papers. And several hostellers have left for their home as well.”
