PROFESSOR AND Department Head of Anatomy Dr Keshav Kumar has claimed to have discovered the concept of ‘blood volume equality’ which would largely benefit patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases. The concept known as ‘Keshaw Concept of blood volume equality’ proved that in the systemic and pulmonary circulation equal volume of blood circulated during each heartbeat, said Dr Keshav Kumar.

Addressing media persons on Saturday Kumar said a ratio of 3:1 existed between arteries of systemic and pulmonary circulation as far as their wall thickness, pulsatory power and pulse pressure were concerned. But in case of lumen circumference or volume of blood entering the lumen during each heartbeat this ratio was 1:1 between the arteries of systemic and pulmonary circulation. “In an individual not suffering from any cardiovascular disease these above mentioned ratios (3:1 and 1:1) remain constant and are known as Keshaw Constants,” he pointed out.

Dr Kumar said any deviation or alteration of ‘Keshaw constants’ in an individual was the indication of cardiovascular disease in the form of right or left sided cardiac failure or in the form of cardiac coronary inefficiency. “Above mentioned laws were unknown in the world and have been established after years of research,” he said.
