The CM, however, said state government could not do anything in this regard as CBI was already investigating the matter.

Disappointed by Mayawati's stand, the family memebers requested her to ensure that they get the relief as announced by the previous government.

Anil Upadhyay, a social worker who accompained the delegation said that Mayawati agreed to look into the matter and said that she would direct the concerned District Magistrate to do the needful.

Upadhyay said Mayawati suggested them go to the court with their demand of probe by state police. Those who met the CM included victims' parents Jabbulal, Ram Kishan and Durga Prasad.
