Family of five jumps into Yamuna, three bodies found

A family of five committed suicide by jumping into the Yamuna river close to the Haryana-UP border.
According to sources, three bodies have been fished out while the other two are yet to be found.
Amar Singh, a government school teacher, his wife and three daughters left home on Monday evening on a motorcycle.
Before jumping into the river, Singh called one of his friends informing him that he was going to jump into the Yamuna from Shergarh bridge, police said.
His friend alerted Singh’s family and they rushed to the spot. However, when they got there, they only found a motorcycle and their shoes.
Besides Amar Singh, other members of the family were identified as his wife Meena and their three daughters -- Anupama, 5, Ekta, 8 and another three-year-old whose name could not be established.
“The the spot from where they jumped falls under the jurisdiction of the UP police,” said SHO, Hodal, Abbas Khan.
