Farmers under the aegis of Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) held a meeting at Roniza village and decided to file petitions in the court. “The Rs 34 hike approved by the board was farmers’ dues pending with the authority. Our demand is that the authority should pay us at the rate of R1,400 per sqm, the amount decided during the Patwari pact,”

BKU leader Ajay Pal Sharma said, adding, “Farmers have asked for increase in developed land from 6% to 8% and regularisation of abadi land.”
