Now, the almirahs of young boys and girls can be seen with the collection of branded clothes.
"I only choose jeans with brand name of either 'Integrity' or 'Levi,' said Vaibhav, a student of B Com Final year.
Though the prices of the branded items are more than double than the ones readied by tailors and made available by local boutiques, the youngsters are ready to shell out more money for jeans and shirts of popular brands. Obviously, they don't mind spending Rs 800-1000 or even more for these items. After all, they feel pride in wearing the branded attire.
Ankur, another student of B Com Final Year, says: "So far as outfit is concerned, I believe that one should wear the best one. No matter how costly are the shirts of 'Killer' and Integrity are. I only go for these brands. If more money is spent on these brands, of course more satisfaction too is attached with them."
The word brand is just not confined to clothing only. Even footwears with the labels of a popular company are picked up by the youngsters.
Footwears with the label of 'Liberty,' 'Anne' and 'Woodland' can be seen flooding the markets of not only Allahabad city but also suburban areas and remote towns.
"There is no compromise as far as brand of the footwear is concerned. I only go for a certain brand and that is Woodland," says Mehvash, a student of M.A Final.
