Fashion show to raise funds for orphanage in India

Slated for November 11, the show is expected to raise #50,000 for a children's home in AP.

It promises to be a fashion show with a difference. All the proceeds from the evening will go to an orphanage in India.

Slated for November 11, the show will coincide between Guy Fawkes night and Diwali. Naturally, a theme of lightworks to mark the occasion will be used to give a platform to exciting new designers as well as established fashion retailers from Edinburgh.

The show is expected to raise £50,000 for the Light of Love Children's Home in Andhra Pradesh. The organisation, providing education for 320 Dalit and destitute children, is almost totally funded by the Edinburgh-based charity, Scottish Love in Action.

The fashion show will exhibit fresh talent from students of the Edinburgh College of Art and the Heriot-Watt School of Textiles and Design. Established designers who will participate include Alex Yong-Hei Fong and B Munro Roberts. Howie Nicholsby Kilts, will donate a kilt for the evening.
