The family of the three-year-old, who hails from Aligarh, used to live in a rented accommodation in Fatehpur Chandela. The child had disappeared under mysterious circumstances on October 10 and the family suspected another tenant Ram Singh and his son Ravi.
"As the accused were missing from their rented house after the boy's disappearance, we focused our investigation on this family. We finally traced the boy in Etah late last night," said Gopal Krishen, in-charge, police post Sector 21A.
"The main accused Ram Singh has been remanded to three days' police custody while his son, a minor, has been sent to a Children welfare home," said a senior police officer.
The police believe that the accused were planning to sell the child before their plan failed and they landed in police net.
