After Buniyaad, SaharaOne once again goes down television’s memory lane with Fauji, best remembered as Shah Rukh Khan’s debut serial.

The serial about the coming of age of Abhimanyu Rai (Khan) from just another brat to a more responsible, mature commando in the Indian army started its rerun yesterday on SaharaOne.

It will be telecast from Mondays to Fridays at 10 pm. Directed by Colonel R K Kapoor, Fauji will always be remembered for its near-perfect depiction of army life, Khan’s charming act, one of the other actors whose constant refrain in the serial used to be ‘I say Chaps’ and the very simple but heart warming story of the soldiers’ life made for some great television viewing the good old Doordarshan days. Now it remains to be seen if SaharaOne’s effort to bring back the old glory withstands the TRP race. So the prime time battle has begun between Khan versus the rest.
