According to figures released by the election office on Friday, barely 35.43 per cent voters in Lucknow turned out in Wednesday's polling. The district administration had earlier put the figure at 43 per cent.

Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer Vijay Sharma on Friday asked the Lucknow district magistrate to explain the lapses, which were highlighted in the media. Sharma had a telephonic talk with new DM Sanjeev Mittal and asked him to send a report after probing all aspects.
