It is believed that Federline refused to accept the offer because he feared it would translate into cutting ties with his sons - Jayden James and Sean Preston, reports www.hollywood.tv.

Before the offer, the celebrity couple had agreed that Federline could meet Jayden and Sean thrice a week at Spears' home.

Apparently, both Spears and Federline, who split in November last year, are now seeking sole custody of their children.

Federline was recently seen as a fast food worker in a commercial for insurance company Nationwide Financial Services.
