Archana Gupta working for a reputed news channel said that she has not taken any marketing degree or diploma. “It was by sheer chance that I landed in this field. I was working for a radio channel and I was told to find sponsors. After a lot of searching, I realised that fieldwork was very enjoyable, she said.

She said that a field job is hard work and very challenging. However, when the target is achieved one feels great and income packages are really attractive. The only thing required is that one must have convincing power.

Echoing her thoughts, Prachi Awasthi, who has been in the field for the last four years said that a field job brings name, fame and money within no time. She recalled that when she was about to join the field, her parents had said that for a girl this was not the job. But she feels that times have changed and it is a big learning experience for girls as one meets different people all the time. It gives them exposure and also brings in a lot of confidence. “I feel that more and more girls must join fieldwork. It is not only interesting but provides great opportunities”, added Prachi.

Raina Sharma has been working for an advertising firm said that today’s girl can do any work. Though nothing is definite in this world, they have to mould themselves according to the organisation’s demand. “Something which I liked about the field was it builds many contacts, one can learn how to tackle different people and can even discriminate between good and bad”, added Raina.

Shweta Katiyar working for a reputed firm felt that if there is interest, then anything could be achieved. Only hard work is required. “I believe if one is bold enough to face the world and is labourious, then the field can be very rewarding. Every time you meet a new person, gradually the power to read people is developed”, Shweta added.

For the last three years Namrata Gupta has been working for a reputed newspaper and said that her parents did not allow her to join the marketing field. But she opted for the job as she felt that the offer was good. Growth is more in marketing field. “I always wanted to be a manager. Now I feel that my dream can come true within a few years. I am working hard to achieve my aim”, added Namrata with a smile.
