File affidavit on tainted ministers, SC tells Centre

The court directed that the PIL filed by one Manoj Narula last year be listed for hearing in August.

The Supreme Court on Monday took strong exception to non-filing of replies by the Centre and various states to a PIL challenging inclusion of persons facing criminal charges in the Union Cabinet.

A bench headed by Chief Justice YK Sabharwal asked the Centre and the states to file affidavits spelling out their respective stand on the issue within two weeks.

The court directed that the PIL filed by one Manoj Narula last year be listed for hearing in August.
