Film stars split over support to contesting candidates

Salman Khan has decided to support Sunil Dutt while Suneil Shetty has decided to seek support for his rival candidate, Sanjay Nirupam of Sena.

Battle lines appear to have been drawn in the movie industry with film personalities split over their support to candidates contesting the polls.

Leading actor, Salman Khan has decided to support the candidature of Congress nominee, Sunil Dutt while Suneil Shetty has decided to seek support for his rival candidate, Sanjay Nirupam of Sena.

In a telephonic talk to a news channel, Salman Khan said that his family, respected the senior Dutt and has decided to support him in the battle of the ballot.

"Dutt saab is an institution. He has done so much work in his area... We are all with Dutt saab and my family will vote for him", he said.

On the other hand, leading stars like Suneil Shetty, Poonam Dhillon, participated in a rally organised by Sena rival candidate, Sanjay Nirupam.

According to a party release, the stars had sought people's support for the candidature of the firebrand Sena leader.
