Five insurgents surrender in Tripura

Five insurgents of two banned outfits -- All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) -- have been surrendered to security forces in Tripura, official sources said on Tuesday.

Three insurgents of ATTF surrendered before the DIG, BSF at Khasiamangol camp in West Tripura district on Monday and deposited two AK-47 rifles, six magzines and one Chinese grenade.

Two insurgents of NLFT surrendered before the Sub- Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Kanchanpur in North Tripura district on Tuesday. They did not deposit any arm.

The ultras of both the outfits said that they were fed up with the jungle life and scarcity of money, food and uncertain life, the sources said.
