Former Karnataka minister D T Jayakumar passed away at a private hospital in Bangalore on Sunday after a brief illness.

He was 60 years old. He is survived by his wife and a son.

Jayakumar, who represented Nanjangud assembly constituency thrice in 1985, 1994 and 2004, had served the Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy led coalition governments.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Opposition Congress leader in the state assembly Siddaramaiah and Labour Minister B N Bacchegowda have condoled his death.
