For uncle Raina, ignorance is bliss

Cricket history is littered with tales of barrackers, none more famous than an Australian that went by the name Yabba, who has now been immortalised in a bronze statue at the SCG. A Pakistan fan seems to be taking a leaf out of the Australian Rabbitoh.
He may have lacked the stentorian voice of Yabba – who during the infamous Bodyline series told England skipper Douglas Jardine, who was a swatting away a persistent fly, “Leave our flies alone. They’re the only friends you've got here.” Even this fan showed he was just as witty.
At the receiving end was Suresh Raina. The fan went up to Raina outside the team hotel and asked a question that the Indian didn’t quite get. “How’s your nephew?” asked the fan, who works at a medical centre here. Raina just nodded along and said he was fine.
Now, before you wonder what the joke is here’s a little background. A day after India went out of last year’s World T20 in Sri Lanka, Pakistan also exited. A tweet on Raina’s account went viral. “Ek do din late gaye ghar !!!! Woh bhi besharam ki tarah Gaye... Bye bye Pakistan!!!!” read the tweet. A day later, he clarified that it was his nephew who’d written the hateful tweet.
“Smart phones r dangerous. Discov-ered it last night after my nephew posted random tweets. I’m a sportsman and would never disrespect,” he tweeted.
Many, including the fan in question, thought it was a flimsy excuse. Indeed, there’s even a parody account where the description reads, “Chachu's Privacy is at Risk, coz The Nephew is in Town!!!! I was responsible for 9/11, JFK and lots more ... kyun Chachu?”
As the fan was exiting he had a good chuckle with his friends, who were waiting outside. Raina didn’t bat an eyelid. Ignorance is bliss!
