Four terrorists of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), including a self-styled commander surrendered to armed forces in Doda district on Tuesday evening, official sources said here on Wednesday.
Sources said self-styled Hizbul area commander for Sildhar mountain division, Shamas Din laid down his weapons before Border Security Force (BSF) at Ramban with an aim to join the mainstream on Tuesday evening.
He also handed over one AK rifle, four magazines, 115 rounds, two hand grenades, one wireless set and a pouch to BSF officials, the sources said.
Another HM terrorist, Ghulam Hassan surrendered before police in Marmat area of Doda district along with one AK rifle, three magazines, one grenade and 90 AK rounds.
Two more terrorists of HM, Gulam Mohammad and Nazir Ahmed also surrendered to security forces in Khankote area of Doda along with two AK rifles, two magazines, 23 rounds, one pistol, two pistol magazines, three grenades and one wireless set, the sources said.
The terrorists, who surrendered expressed their desire to live in peace saying they were fed up by terrorism backed by Pakistan, the sources said.
