One police constable had allegedly attempted to molest a woman in her house in Baroma town, official sources said.

Later, a mob gheraoed the office of Superintendent of Police and assaulted police constables in which five were injured.

Baska SP KJ Saikia ordered transfer of the constable while the district deputy commissioner has instituted a magisterial inquiry into the incident.
