Tourist and business visas for Indians visiting France will now be delivered by the French consulates within 48 hours.

“The new measures show that France is committed to strengthening the connectivity between the two countries at all levels. Removing barriers and hurdles is our core objective,” Ambassador Richier said, adding that the number of visas delivered by French consulates in India jumped by 33% in 2014 compared to 2013.

It has also been decided to open eight new France visa application centres from December 1, 2014. The visa application will now be possible from anywhere in India.

Richier said ‘Chalo Paris’ was a travel app for Indian tourists planning a French holiday. The all-in-one information app will be made available to the public on December 10.
