About 45 MPs were expected to participate in the meeting, Deora told reporters after visiting the Minjur desalination plant along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Sunday.

On his visit to the desalination plant, he said Mumbai was facing water shortage and they had come to study the Chennai model and see if it can be implemented in Mumbai.

Deora also called on Chief Minister M Karunanidhi. He said Tamil Nadu has been allotted an additional 6 lakh LPG connections following a request made by the state.

Among other issues which came up for discussion with the Chief Minister was CPCL (Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited) proposed expansion of its plant at Manali near Chennai.
