Functions mark Teacher?s Day

RELIGIOUS AND cultural functions were organised at different schools and colleges in the city to mark Teacher?s Day. At Maharana Pratap Education Centre, Keshavampuram, students held a special assembly for the teachers wherein they presented different programmes including a play and games.

RELIGIOUS AND cultural functions were organised at different schools and colleges in the city to mark Teacher’s Day.

At Maharana Pratap Education Centre, Keshavampuram, students held a special assembly for the teachers wherein they presented different programmes including a play and games. The students had also tastefully decorated the function venue. On the occasion, the school management organised a grand party for its staff. School director Surabhi Bhadouria, in her address, said that a teacher helps to build confidence and raise self-esteem in the students.

Celebrations were also held at Humpty Dumpty Pre-school and Dr Sharda Memorial School. Director of the schools Piyush Tiwari lighted the lamp to inaugurate the function. The kids presented songs and took part in fancy dress.

Achint Tripathi, in the role of Krishna, presented a dance. School principal Alka Tiwari proposed the vote of thanks.

At Omkareshwar Saraswati Vidya Niketan Inter College, Jawahar Nagar, former HoD of DBS College, B. N. Singh, gave away prizes to outstanding teachers and students. Principal Ram Milan Singh gave the vote of thanks.

At Nav Jyoti Convent, Sisamau, chief guest of the function Panther Dhani Ram Baudh expressed his views about noted educationist and former president Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. He also gave away prizes to the best teachers of the school.

The students of the Government Central Textile Institute organised a function.
Chief guest and chief executive officer of the Nahar Group of Industries S. K. Sehgal inaugurated the function. Dean of the institute P. N. Mishra accompanied him. On the occasion, the students garlanded the chief guest and their professors including head of department and media head of the institute Alka Ali along with professors Pramod Diwakar, V. K. Malhotra and I. P. Mishra.

The students presented variety entertainment programmes like ‘Om Namah Shiva’ and ‘Rock n Roll’. Students including Jitendra Singh, Neha Sharma, Vivek Yadav and Rashi Seth conducted the programmes. At DBS College, the teachers and the students planted about 350 saplings in the college complex to mark the day.

After the plantation drive, a seminar was organised in which Dr Kailash Bhargava explained the importance of plantations. Dr Indramani Semwal conducted the programme.

The Indus Public Welfare Society organised a teachers’ conference at its Khankah Sharif Dadamiay office. Chief guest of the function professor Naki Hussain Jafari of Jamia Milia University, special guest professor Shariful Hassan of AMU and professor Jahir Hussain Jafri of Delhi University were present.
