Although the team management did not confirm Ganguly's availability for the crucial match, it is learnt that the Indian captain is keen to take the field in the day-night match.

In-form batsman V V S Laxman, who had to sit out of the first match in Karachi, because of a stiff left knee, again appears to be a doubtful starter. He has to undergo a fitness test before any decision is taken on including him in the eleven.

Left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra has, however, been ruled out because of a swollen left ankle.
