Ganguly improving but needs 2 weeks' dressing
A medical board formed to treat Sourav Ganguly has decided to continue dressing the wound as the infection still persisted.
Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, now recovering from a second surgery in five days for an abscess in his left thigh at a private city nursing home, was improving satisfactorily though the wound needed dressing for two more weeks, the doctors said on Monday.

"The wound appears to be improving satisfactorily," a medical bulletin issued by the nursing home said after the doctors dressed the wound under analgesia to reduce the pain.
The bulletin, however, added that considering the size and magnitude of the wound, Ganguly needed "at least another two weeks of regular dressing".
The Indian skipper, who underwent a minor surgial procedure at the nursing home on Saturday, has already been ruled out of the first match and also adjudged 'doubtful' for the second game of the one-day tri-series with the doctors extending his stay at the nursing home till Wednesday, October 22.
India open their tri-series outing against New Zealand on October 23 in a day-night match at Chennai, before moving on to Gwalior to play Australia under floodlights on October 26.
Ganguly earlier missed the second cricket Test against New Zealand at Mohali after doctors advised him rest following a minor surgery for the abscess last Tuesday.
The six-member medical board formed to treat Ganguly has decided to continue dressing the wound under analgesia as the infection still persisted.
The course of antibiotics would also go on as the culture report of the wound has shown growth of staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
