The incident took place when the gateman refused to let the car go in the face of an approaching train. The railway crossing falls near the border of Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr districts. The victim has been identified as Rangeelal Meena, 55, a native of Rajasthan.

After committing the crime, they opened the gate themselves and sped away. The incident

was detected when Meena did not respond to routine communications regarding passage of other trains. Railway employees from adjoining pockets reached the spot and found Meena’s body lying in a pool of blood.

This is not the first incident of its kind. On November 20, a group of people had beaten up a gateman, when he refused to let them go.

On September 12, a bus driver had forcibly got a railway crossing at village Maycha opened. The bus got stuck and due to the impact of an approaching train, it was blown into pieces.
