Hardline faction of Hurriyat conference has called off its two-day strike programme and asked people to resume normal life on Saturday and Sunday. In a press release, the Geelani faction said the decision was taken in view of the “indefinite and uncalled for curfew” in the Valley.

JKLF man injured

A senior member of JKLF, Showkat Bakshi, his wife, sister and niece were injured after security forces fired pellets in city outskirts on a group of people. Police said that the pellets were fired in retaliation to stone throwing by a mob. Bakshi(42) was injured in the evening outside his home in Bemina in the outskirts of Srinagar city.
