Completed in 2001, the Gelsenkirchen World Cup stadium is ranked as a five-star stadium by the Union of European Football Associations. Built at a cost of € 191 million, it is expected to acquire the status of a six-star stadium, owing to its state-of-the art architecture and facilities.
