Jewellers and proprietors confess that the beautiful Jaipuri kundan jewellery with the latest designs are much in demand.

This festive season women are going for diamond studded gold jewellery specially the 'cents n carrots', where the diamond gives a much bigger look than its actual size, says the owner of a jewellery shop in Civil Lines locality, Rajat Chaddha.

It is available in the range of Rs 7000 to Rs 35,000, he says.

In addition to this, heavy jewellery with kundan work is also the taste of the season which is available in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 1 lakh, says he.

As people are preferring jewellery with a new look, we have given a modern touch to the jewellery. Besides we have also tried to give a permanent enamelling to the jewellery, he says.

Despite rise in the price of gold, the precious metal is much in demand this festive season.

"A large number of women are going for designer gold jewellery", says owner of another jewellery shop in the Civil Lines, Devendra Singh.

Besides, there is also a growing demand for Italian jewellery which is light and has got an excellent finishing, he says.

Demand for Jaipuri Kundan work is also much high during Diwali season, says Singh.

"Though price of gold is high, the precious metal provides a life time guarantee. So I always prefer gold jewellery", says Reena, a resident of Katra.
