Countless German vintners intend offering special wines to coincide with this year's Football World Cup games in Germany.

Fifty growers have applied for the licenses so far, the German Wine Institute (DWI) announced during Berlin's Green Week. Offerings will include World Cup-themed Rieslings, Regents and Dornfelders.
The DWI has a licensing contract with the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
The contract provides exclusive rights for German wines to be sold throughout Europe displaying the cup or the official FIFA World Cup 2006 emblem. A list of the already available World Cup wines is on deutscheweine
